New Orleans: Serviced Apartments in Rotterdam

There is a special spot to head to in Rotterdam if you are looking for the perfect combination of luxurious apartments, great views, and a mix of old and new. That place? The Wilhelminapier. More specifically, the New Orleans residential building.

About the building

At 160-metres tall and covered in sand-coloured panels of Chinese granite, New Orleans is hard to miss. When designing the building, the Portuguese architect, Alvaro Siza, included an art deco style crown. An appreciative nod to the New York skyscrapers of the 1930s.

Inside you will find 45 floors and 234 high-end, luxurious apartments. Twelve of which belong to Corporate Housing Factory. A range of one and two bedroom apartments on different floors, each apartment comes fully furnished (including a Nespresso machine, washing machine, dryer) and includes weekly cleaning services. A (motor) bike storage room is available to residents and parking is available under the building for a rental fee.

And if the amazing views over a city filled with modern architecture and the river Maas aren't enough of a perk to staying in these Rotterdam apartments, then the amenities will be. On the fourth floor, you will find a well-equipped gym, sauna, steam room, and indoor swimming pool. The perfect way to start your working day or unwind at the end of a long one. On sunny days, you can even relax outside on the sun deck.

The location of New Orleans is excellent as well. Located just across the Erasmusbrug on the south side of the river, the Wilhelminapier is a popular location for world cuisine restaurants, Rotterdam’s photo museum, and a number of entertainment venues. The city’s downtown area is also just a short walk away.

While staying in the New Orleans, you'll receive the personal touch from Els Brouwer (Service Desk Coordinator) and her colleagues. Here are her Rotterdam top tips for guests staying in one of the luxurious apartments of New Orleans:

  1. Book one of the Spido Harbour Tours or enjoy a ride on one of the water taxis, which conveniently depart from the pier very near the building.
  2. Enjoy a meal at the nearby Hotel New York, so you can catch a glimpse of an earlier time period.
  3. Pay a visit to the covered food hall, known as the Markthal.
